Hello, my name is Allison and I am going back to school the fall of 2010 to pursue my OTA certificate in an accelerated program at North Shore Community College. I have a B.S. in Psychology from my undergraduate and hope to eventually pursue a M.S. in Occupational Therapy. I was wondering if I could mentor, volunteer, shadow, sit down and discuss the OT field with another professional. I am really passionate about helping people and was introduced to OT while working as an Applied Behavior Analysis Autism Specialist at an early intervention preschool. I was really taken back by the benefits the children received prom their OT sessions. I am almost certain that this is the right career choice for me but would really like to become more familiar with other practices before indulging into school. Would anyone have any suggestions? |
